I'm posting this on behalf of Dave (flannelracing) in Essex as regretfully he finds that he needs to move on his 46 estate.
Apologies for the poor photos as my camera is not playing ball at the moment.
Anyway, the car has 47,000 miles on the clock, it has a recent new exhaust, unused spare tyre, a Ford Escort alternator upgrade, new clutch shoes (not relined ones) and clutch drum along with a new belt (the 46 only has one belt, for those new to DAFs).
All this comes with another two 46's in spares. Dave had another 46 with 19,000 miles on the clock which itself was packed out with spares. He has the 19K miles engine as a spare which turns over by hand and even a spare belt in the Volvo packaging. - brand new. I've seen the mound of parts and there are loads of it including another interior - cloth and rip free. The car itself has the highback seats like in Ovlovs and is also very good with just a little wear in one bolster. It has the original FM/LW radio which was working although Dave has replaced with a modern stereo that he will be removing.
Now, this is not on the road. I got the impression of a very solid little car. Dave has addressed most of the rust and has cut out a couple of small square panels that need plating and there is a small rot hole in the rear of a front wing - somebody who knows to weld could finish this in an afternoon. The only more serious rust appears to be in one of the 'B' posts which needs cutting out and new metal letting in - for which Dave has a replacement piece ready to be welded in. I'm told that the floors and sills are all solid.
Otherwise she is quite solid and even comes with 2.5 litres of paint which has been professionally colour matched.
For those with bodywork skills this should be an easy project - just finish it off and put her through an MOT. Everything is there and there are enough spares to keep her on the road for a long time.
Sadly she does need to move on soon and Dave is quite keen that she goes to a caring owner. Interested parties please contact me and I'll put you in touch with Dave.
