That sounds great Paul. A caravan to Colchester would be a great way to spend some extra time with all of you. ;D ;D
But, beleive it or not, the shorter flight to Dublin is $53.00 to $343.00 more per person than the flight to Glasgow and there is a 4 hour layover in the States....plus we might not have a car available from Dublin.

Here is an idea..... Since I have changed the route just a tad (Bob C. wants to stop & collect his 343 bits) we could meet outside Birmingham (say at the closest Car Park south) and convoy the rest of the way together...that would be phenomenal !! John

I would suggest Telford services on the M54 as a good meeting place. Plenty of parking some American food (McDonalds) and petrol as well. or if you dont want to go that little bit off route theres Corley Services near Coventry. Ive put the 2 proposed meeting points on your map for you click

Corley Services looks like the spot Paul. We do have to stop in Birmingham to pick up a load of 343 bits Bob has waiting for him. Besides....Why would we want American Food (McDonalds is not what I consider food, mystery meat between two bits of bread) I can't wait to enjoy a full English Breakfast again. ;D We'll plan a time when things get closer but it will be on the 23rd. Time for a wee update as to the happening in the "good old USofA".......(Also known as the Mythical DAF Land) In the Museum Department- I have been straight out doing the inventory of all the DAF bits and trying to catalog everything. To date I have 23 different three ring binders filled with sales literature from the various models, magazines and assorted pieces of collectibles. The count today is up to 706 items but still a long way to go. Postal Pete update- Many hours were spent finishing up the Right Inner Wing with Fiberglass and finally adding an extra support which will help to hold everything straight once the Spare Tyre is mounted on top. Also with a lot of help from Ronnie (in Holland) and Sverker (in Sweden) I was able to figure out how and where the front suspension bar was mounted. This was quite a feat only because the bar was off when I received the car and I had no clue where it went. The front Windscreen is also out and has been taken to a local Auto Glass shop in oreder to find a possible replacement here...I will keep my fingers crossed that they will be able to find something off a large lorry and be able to cut it down. With all our running around lately, I'd completely missed the convoy suggestions. If I'd been on the ball I would have pointed out that there's a little red 32 sitting at the end of the ferry that you'd be more than welcome to use for the drive down - only, following Sian in Betty it'd be more like 7 hours than 14 once you cleared the ferry port ;D
meanwhile, great to see such good progress on PP. It looks like very little ground clearance under that front mount though - no wonder you had trouble working out where it went!

Thanks for the offer of Matilda Joe but as it stands now we are flying into Glasgow where a very nice White Volvo 343 Variomatic awaits our use. Didn't Paul need a set of wheels for that weekend or is he bringing Bruce (the Non-DAF)?? If we can all meet up at that car park in Coventry we'll convoy over together...that would be Great! ;D Even being outdoors today the amount of fumes from the fiberglass resin gave me a headache. There are still a few small areas in need of repairs on the Body and once that is done I can go onto the chassis. John
