Hi Ho...from across the Pond (the mythical DAF kingdom) There has been a flurry of activity happening with the "Postal Pete" project (activity with progress and making headway..not chasing my tail going in circles ) I am happy to announce (after having to weld on 9 new studs) both door rails and doors are back on and working properly. In keeping with the Canadian Spec I have installed some new "West Coast Mirrors" and eliminated the lower windscreen wipers in favor of the Canadian single top mounted wiper. This will surely make it a very unique Kalmar Van. The right side (Driver's side) now has all the bodywork completed. Just awaiting a bit of rubber weatherstripping to arrive from Sweden to replace the door glass. I also managed to replace the two front Body cushions (these two front ones were really bad but the other 4 in the center and back were perfect) and I did it without having to remove the body. Persistance (and a few power tools helped) Thanks to a suggestion by Bob C. the two front cushions were replaced with Ice Hockey Pucks. The back end was finally done on 4 july.... ...and today the cargo door was re-hung. John

HiHo.... Latest photos of "Postal Pete" as work continues forward at a "fever pitch" ;D Before (Oct.,2011): Now (July, 2012): Wow...what a difference from a year ago. My little seat maker dropped off the finished Kalmar seats the other day and they look great. Since most of the hardware (nuts, bolts, support rods and mounting brackets) was missing from the "Jump Seat" this would need to be worked on first since it required so much new fabrication. Here it is....isn't it cute ?? ;D John

Thanks Pete ;D I forgot to add this... Ha Ha Ha Last evening (just before stopping for the day) I decided to remove the headliner... BIG MISTAKE. ;D ;D ;D ;D THIS is what I found inside. A mouse Condominium. Look at the size of that "Mouse House" Obviously this will have to be remade completely. John

I have 3 you can borrow, mind you it might be easier and more effective to chase 'em yourself. I have never seen a mouse nest in a roof lining space. Odd, just odd.
Good work though John, as ever.
