Oh it was a good day today (after yesterday, anything is an improvement)....Everyone in Boston (Massachusetts) is a WANKER ! My normal 8 hour round trip turned into 11 1/2 hours on the road. Grrrrrr!! I unpacked the crate from Holland with Postal Pete's new Windscreen and the two very rare original DAF Type 30 windscreens (which only fit the 600, 750 & Daffodil 30) which are as rare as "Hen's Teeth". I'll have my work cut out for me cutting the Kalmar windscreen out of it's frame carefully to save the rubber and NOT break the glass. John

Rough week..... OMG !!! On Thursday (27th) a major snow storm passed through the area dumping over 14 inches (35 cm) of the white stuff and another 10 cm on Saturday (29th). I piloted a plough truck for almost 15 hours straight on Thursday at work....one long long day. John

Latest update on Marilyn (the V343 type 1) As you all know Marilyn has roof issues and that I managed to locate a donor roof bit in Holland. Well, she is now in the shop being operated on. This was last week just after her mangled bit had been cut out. Today I was summoned to the shop for a progress report. After a few days of cutting & fitting the new panel is ready to be welded in place. Due to strength requirements we had to make sure there was at least a 5 cm to 10 cm overlap on each of the layers before welding. So far, so good. ;D ;D John

Quick report..... The new roof section is now all welded in, interior seams have been sealed, interior support bolted as well as glued in place.... By the beginning of next week the rear hatch will be installed again as well as ,hopefully, the side window. John

I needed a little excitement on this boring Saturday. ;D This Ford Explorer caught fire as it was travelling up my road around 5pm today. By the time they pulled off and I called 911 (our equivalent of your 999) the flames were shooting out of the driver's window. It only took a matter of minutes before it was fully engulfed. Luckily I saw the two occupants running down the road so no one was hurt. John

PROGRESS...PROGRESS on Marilyn Today the final full skim coat was applied before a primer coat goes on tomorrow. I have to admit that work on Marilyn has been interrupted on a few occasions the past couple of weeks because "Bondo Billy" has had to work on other cars as well, he is only a one man shop. John

"Bondo Billy" had to take a short break to repair a Subaru which had been struck by a Deer (Quick paying Insurance jobs take priority. ) But, this morning we were back at it on "Marilyn".... We installed the side glass and the repaired Hatch. Billie will be masking everything this afternoon and apply the first coat of color. John
