I have also just got back from my first show of the season. Fantastic weather and a really good turn out bring on "not" Henblas.

GOOD GOD......Loosing sleep over this Kalmar wiring nightmare. Simple it is not, frustrating it is. There are two schematics (Mk 1 & Mk 2) and neither one is legible enough to enlarge with good results. I have removed quite a few wires out of the loom already (6 assorted earth & 6 unused) making it a little easier to trace circuits. Today I was running a conductivity test on this... Not sure if this original equipment but it was bad (this terminal block holds all the wiring for the rear section). It has now disappeared in favor of this... A nice new power strip with new connectors. 11 wires coming in, 8 going to the back end. John

Finally making some good progress with the wiring nightmare... Alternator/ Volt Regulator...done Headlights (High & Low)...done Ignition system...done Parking lamps (front, side & rear)...done Turnsignals (front, side & rear)...done Horn...done All that remains; Brake lights... License plate light... Wiper... All in all not too bad (considering I've lost sleep and a few hairs) John

HOORAY....Thanks to a generous donation from one of our frequent Museum visitors and supporters I no longer have to manhandle tyres. Last week he dropped off this fantastic air powered Coats Tyre Machine which will handle up to 16 inch wheels, (Unfortunately, I still have to do the 12 inch ones by hand since there is no center hole). What a great gift. John ;D ;D

Result! I see you also have a balancer. I know from Martin when he acquired a tyre balancer just how soon it would repay itself from all those trips to the tyre shop.

maybe you could make an adapter plate that would replace that threaded shaft to bolt 12" wheels to?? (depending of course on wether that threaded spindle can be dropped through the centre to lower its height

(depending of course on wether that threaded spindle can be dropped through the centre to lower its height If the balancer is the same as Martin's Nick then the centre hole isn't the issue. The balancer uses a spirit level to show where the weight is needed and guess where it lives. Yep, right at the top in the centre. So even if you could adapt it to suit the A body wheels you'd not be able to get a reading.

The only thing I can do anything with is the Balancer for the 12 inch wheels. I've made a measurements for the center and have a magnetic bubble which I will position...that should solve that problem. With the actual changer...no such luck. There is no way (without drilling out the wheel centers) to mount or de-mount tyres. The large center shaft on the changer is permanent. Anyway, Here's a look inside the Museum... Momentarily I am full with 12 DAFs but when the lift unit arrives there will be place for three more. John
