I took a break from electrics on "Postal Pete" to tackle another smaller annoying little problem... The shift assembly: The holder was pretty much shite. Back side of box so badly rotted I had to fabricate a new one. All repaired....almost. I still need to locate a few spare Return Spring Clips to finish it off since they were missing. The same irritating little bit which caused problems on my 55 Coupe'. This is special spring material so I cannot fabricate it (also used on 44-66 shifters). John

Sorry for the lack of updates (does anyone read this thread?)... Since starting my new job I have had very little time to post anything anywhere or even do any DAFfing (10 hour days have that effect ) At least I can be guaranteed my weekends free and any required days I deem fit...my new employer is very flexible and agreeable. The only major breakthrough to report is that "MARILYN" went home with a First Place trophy during my Birthday weekend...her first ever award!! ;D ;D ;D ;D All the effort to bring her back from a crumpled mess has paid off. Positive luxury!

Yesterday I enjoyed a wonderful Father's Day afternoon with my oldest Daughter Larissa. She surprised me by coming to the car show I was attending and took me to a late lunch at our favorite Dairy Bar. ;D It was a very strange show indeed. Sandra was the only foreign car and most of the other cars were "Redneck" & "Hillbilly" machines.... but it was fun anyway. ;D ;D ;D ;D John

Result!
A car show and being taken out for father's day! Lucky man!
I stayed at home and watched 'The boy with Green Hair' with Grinder Jnr but he's only 9 and far too young to take me out for lunch. Financial independence is a long way off (does that ever happen?)... ;D

Your time will come Pete...I had to wait 18 years before my kids were able to celebrate (financially) a real Father's Day. I had an sneaky motive for taking "SANDRA" out on Father's Day... Recently a very generous (unknown) person donated a 123-Ignition dizzy to me (apparently to replace the one lost in shipping from Holland) as well as replacing the fuel pump. After putting them in the 55 Coupe' I needed a good road test. ;D Result.....excellent performance and no more worries of the dizzy flying apart or having to rebuild one. John

That is a superb result John! Now, do send your generous benefactor our way when you have finished with him/her...
