Well done Paul - hopefully the winter won't be as bad as they say but a vehicle like this is just what you need!
I shall be having another thrilling one with the Corsa, which is at least predictable - and being an automatic does much better than people give her credit for. She was very brave last year and it looks like she'll need to be extra-brave in the coming months!

Just in time it would appear. Ok thats not really 4wd requiring snowfall but the sky looks rather laden.

Snow....you call that snow ?? ?? That would not even be classified "a dusting". ;D ;D ;D THIS is snow... [ We've already had one storm over 2 inches but melted quickly so no bother. John

MOT time again this year and we have another years ticket and a few minor jobs to do when I get some free time to do it.
To pass she needed a new fog lamp unit fitted, a small patch on the rear chassis by the shock mount, and the perrenial problem of spring saddle U bolts needing retorqueing. I've never come across a vehicle that has a penchance for loosening suspension components before but this one has needed them re-tightened every six months since i've had it.
All in all not to bad at all. £20 parts and 1/2 an hours labour.
Advisories. - hand brake lever little reserve travel - Oh well it still works fine. I'll put a new cable on at some point as its stretched. - Banshee under the bonnet. - New fan belts required. The alternator on this is driven by 2 V belts and they can't be tensioned separately. Still charges fine though and only squeels for a minute or so after start up so another job on the as and when list.

Just lock 'em up with a second set of half-nuts. Or am I missing something here?

So how about some new U-bolts with more thread? Can't be good having an axle that wants to get loose all the time.
