Quick update . I got the digger sort of running today but no throttle response and very low on power. The fuel injection pump is defo fubared so I have to whip out the pump again tomorrow to get some pump elements and delivery nozzles. But in the meen time I looked at swapping issabelle head lights ready for the mot. But alas the driver side surround that supports the headlamp adjusting ring is only a couple of tags and they are all floppy. So I just mounted the lights for now I will have to weld in a new lip to mount the lamp on to do it properly. I will do the front struts tomorrow if it's not raining and remove the collector silencer for a bit of a weld up. I need some headlamp bulbs as the ones in here are to high a wattage the poor old dynamo won't be able to keep up. Any way just the brake light wiring now and the afore mentioned then it's mot time. So it might not be long but then again the digger looks like it's looming up quickly then I won't be able to do Isabel at all cos I will be building her a house to live in.

Hello all a couple of updates. The digger got its pump Back all tick eddy boo just need to order the correct timing shims the timing is 22 or 23 degs advanced it should be only 12 so I need a 1mm shim and it's Got to come from japan or holland. Do you know that hitachi Europe is in Amsterdam holland coincidence eh. I know Dafs are not Amsterdam in fact my friends mum is Dutch she comes fron 10 mins away from the daf car factory as was. Another coincidence. Any way back to the point. I have been allowed to play with Isabel today! All day wot!!! All day just after you have dismantled your daughters bed rebuilt her new one, put up a wall unit and taken a book case out. Oh and fitted a speedo to your sons bike and replaced the telephone line between the house and the bottom of the Pole ( in the ducting that I put in last year) and then called bt ooh that makes my blood boil. The phone is still not working Oh and feed and clean out the chickens. Right then oh sh*t the garage is a mess with wallpaper strippers and tools and chairs and and and and so tidy it up.
right get issabell down the drive. Ah at last time to work on her. No no no no first cut up some old fence posts to just fit between the jacking points as the floor is so rotten spread the weight over the full length of the sills. Jack i her up crunch crunch crunch ooo don't like the sound of that...... But up she went. Then off with her wheels gasp well fronts anyway and wire brush and liberal squirt with penetrating ooh i like that word penetrating oil. Off with her front hubs and front dampers on with the new second hand ones. Check the brakes all good no leaks but front passenger side broken return spring on the rear of the drum cylinder side. And no washer left to turn up and stop the nut tightening / undoing. No boot on the steering ball joints and up and down movement on the bottom ball joints oh well let's see how it goes any way nice shocks now.
more to follow with pics the exhaust collector silencer is off too.

A bit more Isabel's been naughty she is refusing to get close to an mot when I lowered her off the jacks from the axel stands she peed petrol all over the floor. I put a piece of fuel line over the perforated metal pipe and it leaked further down and the other side too. So I let her drain into an oil collecting tin. Good job she only had about 8 litres of petrol in her. The fuel line is rotten and needs replacing. I bet the vacuum hoses are the same . the exhaust is rotten to the point of to thin to weld and many holes. The rear body is rotten as well behind the rear floor into the vario compartment. I can't add the pics they are too big so will have to up load them later. Attachments:

This is not sounding good at all. I was under the impression that Isabelle was in tip top condition when she left Norwich.

Your havin a laugh I will take pics you can put your fist through the rear wing where the water sprays up from the rear wheel. There are more rust bubbles every where they put filler I think it's retained the water and been sprayed so it's held against the metal and taken it out especially when it's been sanded first. The inner sill on the driver side went through when I dropped it off the jack ie the flex made it crumble to bits. I didn't want to say about it because of the effort and the reason she was done up. Or I don't want to be a moaner. You have to park her pointing down hill so the water does not run off the bonnet and through the holes in the scuttle panel. If I can get photoes to work from the I pad and photobucket I will show you. It is what it is and beggars can't be choosers. If you know of a cheeper 33 let me know a nice on or 32 that is almost free for me to do. If one doesn't come up prior to my shed being made I might have to hold on until the shed is built I will make her good then do my daffing I was hoping to do my daffing first but there are lots of body to make so I guess she might have to hang on until I can turn her over and do it all properly. Has any one used a car roller b4 I used to roll them onto an old matress from the dump and then cover the matress with wood or sand brushed up to it to stop it burning from the slatter. Ooh those were tha days.

Well, we do have a 32 at ED up for grabs. Not 'next to nothing' but reasonable and probably cheaper in the long run, at least in terms of time spent putting metal back in. You really need to pay a visit to Essex sometime. We even have nice weather at the moment and the only floods are puddles that are over an inch deep...

Don't feel too bad about the boomerang. Mine has been welded several times. They are designed to flex. Front silencer is a bit nasty though. Show us your heat exchangers. We might be able to help you there.
