Living in the sticks has it's advantages,down here in Devon most businesses will go the extra mile to give good service.

Wheels look good, forgot to ring Advance Tyres for a collection, too busy building a raised base for a new bunded oil tank.

Tyres fitted and wheels back on the van tonight.Hopefully the replacement alternator will be here tomorrow and fitted ASAP. There is an inherent problem with the one fitted,it seems that it is an old model and can't be cross referenced,the model number is difficult to find refered too anywhere,so I decided rather than "faff" about I would buy a new one.I can then wire it in and feel confident with it's relability.

I havent forgotten the circuit diagram, just got to get the scanner working again!! Now it my turn to find someone who can handle Daf 3 hole, no centre hole wheels! One has a very slow leak somewhere around the rim.

I know a tyre specialist who has balanced and fitted Daf 33 tyres for me. They're in Chingford, though!

Back working on the van for a few hours.A previous owner had reduced the height of the cargo bulk head behind the seats so spent an aftenoon removing the structure ready to replace as near original as possible. A cargo bulk head is very important in a van used for transporting goods as emergency braking will catapault anything in the back into the occupants in the front.I will probably fit a mesh screen on top if the bulk head. I will fit the same on the Moggie van[when I eventually get it back!!].

This is how I would connect an alternator;
With a fuse for the petrol pump

Not too much time to work on the van at present, much work on our small holding needs doing and of course everything is growing fast[especially the weeds!]. Just had the first cut of hay and managed to bale and put under cover before the rain. I managed to have an hour or two on the van yesterday and put in new insulation on the floors and put the rubber mats and seats back in. Also replaced the vacuum valve[thanks Matt] so that is working now. Then back to work today building a fence. A tip[unless someone else has already come up with the same idea],when I put the seats back in, I replaced the 10mm nuts with wing nuts, this saves the search for a 10mm spanner.
